Good to know

What's the difference between an ISP and a fibre network (FNO)?

Fibre network operators like Vumatel, Openserve, Frogfoot and Octotel lay the cables. You buy your package from an ISP (e.g. Afrihost, Cool Ideas, Webafrica) that sells on that network. First check which network is in your street, then pick the ISP with the best price and service on it.

Fibre, LTE, 5G or fixed wireless — which should I choose?

Fibre is fastest and most stable, so choose it when it's available. 5G can match entry-level fibre in covered metros. LTE works almost everywhere but slows down at busy times. Fixed wireless is a good option in towns without fibre.

How is the DRITS Score calculated?

Each provider gets a researched rating (speed, reliability, support, value, awards and published review scores). That is blended with star ratings from verified users on this site. The more users rate a provider, the more their opinion counts.

How current are the prices?

Prices are researched by AI from providers' own websites and checked by our team. Each provider shows when it was last updated. Promotions change often, so confirm the final price on the provider's sign-up page.

What happens when I click "Sign up"?

You can leave your details so the provider contacts you (we only share them with your consent, in line with POPIA). Then you continue to the provider's own sign-up page. Your contract is always directly with the provider.
